OUR MISSION
The Fenton Community Orchestra provides a place for musicians of all ages to connect through music and offers uplifting, educational, and entertaining programs, both for our members and our audiences.
Membership is open to musicians from age 14 and up, provided they have the desire to play and learn together.
OUR STRATEGIC PILLARS
1. Creating Opportunities for Musicians to participate in a Community Orchestra under qualified artistic leadership.
2. Enriching Community Life by sharing the Orchestra experience and performing arts with all citizens.
3. Engaging stakeholders to advance the sustainability of the organization and its mission.
OUR HISTORY
The Fenton Community Orchestra was founded in August 2010 by three Fenton residents who wanted the opportunity to play in a multi-generational orchestra. Now in its fourteenth season, FCO has grown to more than 80 full orchestra members plus a 50-member Simply Strings ensemble, performing to thousands of audience members every year. FCO is a regional organization with members from Fenton, Lake Fenton, Linden, Grand Blanc, Holly, Bancroft, Burton, Byron, Clarkston, Clio, Columbiaville, Commerce Twp., Davisburg, Davison, Durand, Farmington Hills, Freeland, Flint, Flushing, Frankenmuth, Freeland, Goodrich, Grand Blanc, Hartland, Holly, Howell, Lake Orion, Lennon, Owosso, Perry, Pleasant Ridge, Rochester Hills, Saginaw, Shelby Twp., South Lyon, St. Johns, Swartz Creek, Vassar and other communities. Since the beginning, more than 375 musicians have performed with the FCO ensembles.
