OUR MISSION
The Fenton Community Orchestra offers a place for musicians of all ages to connect through music by creating an educational and entertaining music program, both for its members and its audiences.
Membership is open to musicians from age 12 and up, provided they have the desire to play and learn together.
OUR STRATEGIC PILLARS
1. Creating Opportunities for Musicians to participate in a Community Orchestra under qualified music and artistic leadership.
2. Enriching Community Life by sharing the Orchestra Experience and performing arts with all citizens.
3. Engaging stakeholders to advance the sustainability of the organization and its mission.
OUR HISTORY
The Fenton Community Orchestra was founded in August 2010 by three Fenton residents who wanted the opportunity to play in a multi-generational orchestra. Now in its tenth season, FCO has grown to more than 90 orchestra members, performing to thousands of audience members every year. FCO is a regional orchestra with members from Fenton, Byron, Hartland, Linden, Holly, Flint, Davison, Swartz Creek, Davisburg, Grand Blanc, Durand, Howell, and Clarkston. Since the beginning, more than 200 musicians have performed with the FCO ensembles.

October 2020: As we face the challenges of COVID-19 together, we continue to put the safety of our members, staff, and community first. Although ensemble rehearsals have been postponed to Spring 2021 due to the pandemic, we are excited to announce that we have awarded ten scholarships for our returning PSO students. Because of the generosity of our sponsors, The State Bank and First Choice Heating and Cooling, and a grant from the Fenton Community Fund, these students will be able to take private instrument lessons with our music instructors this fall. The Symphony Orchestra and Simply Strings are planning to begin in early 2021 with live concerts in the spring and summer.
